CHRYSSIE IS NOW FOR SALE! CONTACT THE ARTIST (bretherton @ triangleranch.com)
Chrysanthemum S. Dragon (Chryssie) is a flower lover. That’s why she eats slugs, even though they taste awful. Because if you don’t eat the slugs, they will eat your plants before they even get a chance to grow, and then, no flowers! No flowers means no seeds, and it just gets worse from there.
Hummingbirds follow her and her kind around.
Their presence is the best clue that you have one of Chryssie’s family in your garden, keeping the blooms happy. Garden Dragons don’t mind at all if you help out with keeping slugs under control, though. Then they have more time to just smell the flowers!
Artist Monica Bretherton
This particular depiction of Chryssie was created by Monica Bretherton, who resides in Trafton with, sadly, too many slugs. She is the Vice President of the Arlington Arts Council and is active in the regional art scene.
